We implement a project of collection, monitoring, maintenance and analysis of production data for the client. The output is visualisation for streamlining the production process.

Customer profile

Grammer CZ is a manufacturer of front and rear console armrests for passenger cars, passenger train seats and other plastic parts. They assemble seats for truck and off-road vehicles, including foaming.

Execution

Project preparation

Client selected values and data from the production that they want to collect and further process. This was data from various production sections that were to be stored in a database for back analysis. We proposed a solution for obtaining data from various sources based on the division of data by sections.

Course of execution

We prepared previews and charts that were created from the evaluated samples of historical data.

Data was downloaded from existing and newly prepared PLCs. Production lines equipped with a server available on the PLC downloaded and sent data using software to a server dedicated directly for monitoring. Other existing PLCs were connected to the new network with an industrial computer, which was also connected to the corporate data storage network.

Outputs

Our output was preparing data visualisation for maintenance, with real-time information.

These follow-up projects were gradually implemented into the system:

  • Automatic task scheduling
  • Project documentation
  • Injection monitoring
  • Machine logbooks with charts
  • Temperature control

The project is constantly being worked on and other sections are being added and new reports are being prepared.

Benefits

The main benefit of visualisation in Grammer CZ is clear production data. Production performance and usage of individual devices are displayed in real time. Knowing the duration of individual production operations makes it possible to plan the capacities of machines and people more effectively. Clear machine logbooks enable better planning of service and maintenance work, thanks to which production is not hindered.
